DALLAS HOSTS 4TH ANNUAL ‘ANKARA FESTIVAL’


Pomp, pageantry and palpable excitement are the tone and mood setters at the upcoming Ankara Festival billed for Dallas TX on Friday, 4th April 2014.

Ankara Festival, a celebration of Africanness is a genius concept conceived four years ago by Nigerian born Juju music Artiste, Olawale Ogundeyi to create awareness on the multi and diversified cultures and traditions of Africa. Regular features at the annual events are Fashion shows/parades, Music, Comedy to mention a few.

This year’s show promises to be quite informative and revealing on the different socio-cultural identities of the different ethnic backgrounds of the African people. Prospective features and exhibitions at the event will include, but not limited to expressive African fashion shows displaying fabrics and attires, African Cuisines, dances etc. with different vendors competing to attract the numerous guests to their booths to showcase arrant creativity and ingenuity.

Prominent African born Artistes and local media gurus expected to be in attendance at the 2014 show include the likes of the Hostess, Olufunke Mercyflawless, a rising Radio broadcaster and blogger par excellence with the Dallas Studio of Roots Radio,  alongside the Host, Dallas based M.C. and Comedian, Donmanuel a.k.a Naijamericana. The celebrity list also includes Sidofobia, another popular Juju/Highlife musician from the state of Maryland, while the renowned Houston-based P.C. will be at the cockpit to pilot the event as the Compere and Stand-up comedian for the night.

Taking place at the popular ‘Peoples Convention Center, Irving TX from 7p.m., this year’s event already has the potential to be a mindblower!
