Nigerian writer signs big deal in Europe

24 year-old Nigerian writer, Onyeka Nwelue who is known for his 2009 best-seller, The Abyssinian Boy, recently signed to Pontas Literary & Film Agency, one of the biggest agencies in Europe, based in Barcelona, Spain. Founder of Pontas Literary & Film Agency, Anna Soler-Pont blogged: “Pontas has recently become the international literary agency for Nigerian author Onyeka Nwelue, and we are convinced that he is an important new literary voice in English language.”

The two year contract will see Nwelue represented by Pontas globally for his second novel, Orchard of Memories, a story about a Chinese man living in Lagos. Nwelue is currently a student at Prague Film School in Czech Republic.
