As the whole world awaits the prestigious annual NEA Awards, the producers have left no stone unturned to make this one event the industry will not recover from in a long time. The four day Labor Day weekend extravaganza (Friday, September 2nd through Monday, September 5th, 2011) will include an Entertainment Seminar, networking, Picnic, Gala Events and the Award Ceremony. The show promises to feature many of Africa’s top entertainers and African international stars in the Diasporas.

Speaking on why the NEA is held in the United States, the producers said “ the growth of African entertainment transcends beyond the shores of Africa, and that led to the decision to create a platform to recognize the many talent and achievements of African entertainers on an international stage, New York City, the world capital of entertainment.”

The NEA Awards has evolved over time. For the first time ever, this year’s event is a Pan African Entertainment Award show, a first of its kind in America. The weekend promises to be the biggest celebration of African Entertainment during the biggest carnival in the US- the Labor Day weekend in New York.

In the 2008, the third edition of NEA Awards, Tanzania’s Tatiana of Big Brother Africa, co-hosted the Award ceremony. A show that also featured Ghana’s hip hop artist Tic Tac. This year will feature more than just appearances and hosting duties, the show will feature an impressive Pan African performance lineup.

NEA wants to be known as a Pan Africa event in the very near future and this is the beginning of that vision. See for more info.
