Introducing A.Y.O (Pronounced A-WHY-O)


A.Y.O can be described as the voice of the new generation with huge lyrical integrity, and melodies that inspire the soul. He had his first musical encounters as a toddler when he performed "silent night" with his sister on the eve of Christmas of 1991, in First Baptist Church, Kano, before an audience of over two thousand. Years after, he decided to work on his first album project, an album that never hit the shelves. This set back did not hold him back, he began recording singles, collaborations and also back up vocals for upcoming acts.

A graduate from Covenant University, Ogun state where he obtained his B.Sc in Biochemistry. A.Y.O joined the school choir and with his friend, Emmanuel Edunjobi, he co-founded an accapella group called “the Revelations”. While in school, A.Y.O met talented producers such as Nastizzle, Sagzy selection, Rayce, and made great songs like “I don’t understand”, “let it go”, “hero”, and “I believe”.

He presently serves as the personal assistant to the Legendary Nigerian Saxophonist, Mike Aremu, and also functions as a backup singer on Mike Aremu’s “Vision Band" and has had the privilege to perform in several dinners, weddings and awards ceremonies. He has also become the people's favourite in" Freedom Hall" which holds every thursday in Gbogobiri, Ikoyi, Lagos. A.Y.O is definitely an artiste to look out for.
