Yoruba Youth Cultural Dancers

Se ti gbo? or not?
If you reside in Michigan or Ohio,
you must have heard about the Yoruba Youth Cultural Dancers & Drummers.
You might have seen them in Maryland/St.Louis at the Egbe Omo Yoruba Convention. You might have seen them at a wedding or another colorful occasion..

They are members of the Yoruba Youth Corporation and they entertain with african instruments ranging from sekere, conga to gangan (talking drum); they also sing Yoruba folk songs.

Their performance at the African Night hosted by African Student Association of Central Michigan University this past weekend; was nothing short of amazing. The drummers opened the show that night; several activities followed and then the cultural dancers showed the audience how to get down and low "yoruba style." They left the audience waowed. It is no surprise that the Yoruba Youth Cultural Drummers/Dancers made the front page cover of Central Michigan Life Magazine which was published today. This marks their 2nd publication as they were featured on the website of Washtenaw Community College around November 2008 after the Yoruba Youth Club of WCC hosted Yoruba Nite.
